Flexibility and sustainability take centre stage
at Ioffice Sveavägen

Ioffice is a business centre offering coworking spaces at nine locations in Stockholm and one in Gothenburg. Here, companies can rent private offices while also enjoying access to shared meeting rooms and social areas.

EFG has supplied furniture to all Ioffice locations, and when the business centre expanded with a new centre at Sveavägen 34, the premises were furnished with timeless pieces designed to create a welcoming environment with a focus on flexibility, comfort and sustainability.

Design combining comfort and flexibility

Located in the heart of Stockholm, Ioffice at Sveavägen 34 is a modern and flexible workplace designed to feel inviting and pleasant for a wide range of people. The coworking space spans six floors, featuring private offices, open lounge areas, kitchens and meeting rooms on every level.

“When designing the interiors at Sveavägen 34, we wanted to create something bright, modern and vibrant – yet in keeping with the turn-of-the-century building. It was also important that it felt homely and comfortable,” says Isabella Gynge, Interior Designer / Facility Manager at Ioffice.

The interior design is based on a palette of green, pink, beige and burgundy, reflected in the carefully selected EFG products and materials. The result is a cohesive work environment with durable and comfortable furniture that offers flexibility and stands the test of time.

Close collaboration and a wide range of options

Ioffice has been working with EFG for a year, and this close partnership has been key to quickly finding the right solutions in a setting where needs constantly evolve. As requirements change, spaces must be easily adapted with more desks, new meeting rooms or open-plan areas – calling for highly flexible furniture. Having a wide choice of materials and colours has also made a big difference.

“EFG’s furniture is modern with that little something extra. There are so many fabrics to choose from, and you can even change the upholstery – making it easy to create a standout chair that feels special,” says Isabella, who also highlights the benefit of the five-year warranty.

“We’re confident that the furniture will withstand the daily wear and tear we see, but if anything does happen, the warranty makes it easy to replace the piece,” she adds.

Sustainability is another core part of Ioffice’s philosophy, with a strong focus on Swedish manufacturers, reuse and circularity.

Thoughtfully selected colours and materials

While Ioffice has a base palette used across all its locations, each one also has a unique character. At Sveavägen 34, walnut, oak and black details create a warm and harmonious feel, complemented by textured fabrics. The private offices feature the Neet desk in light oak, the Yoyo chair and the Hold storage unit – a well-considered base that tenants can personalise.

“Ioffice always provides the desk, chair and storage in each office room. Then tenants are free to furnish the rest as they like,” Isabella explains.

Flexible solutions for meetings and conferences

Some of the meeting rooms feature the Continue table, whose adaptable design allows for various lengths with fewer legs – maximising seating space and enabling easy customisation. Other rooms use the compact Chat table, which is easy to move and works well in multiple areas.

Chairs include the stylish, stackable Bow with armrests, and the Archie meeting chair with armrests and castors. Both are designed with a thoughtful layer-by-layer construction that allows for refurbishment and updates over time – making them a sustainable choice for tomorrow’s workplaces. These chairs offer high seating comfort with a gentle flex in the backrest while contributing to a flexible and functional interior. Some meeting rooms also feature Reco, which balances the functionality of an office chair with the soft comfort of an armchair. Its adaptable design suits both creative meetings and focused work.

“We always use upholstered chairs in our meeting rooms so that people can sit comfortably even for longer periods,” says Isabella.

In the auditorium – the largest room at the centre – the foldable and tiltable HideAway table is paired with the Bow chair in a mix of reddish pink and green fabrics.

A complete and well-loved concept

The lounges and dining areas are designed to feel cosy, with a variety of seating options and materials that withstand everyday use – extending the furniture’s lifespan. The lounge outside the auditorium features Mingle High in a pink and burgundy mottled fabric, while the dining area is furnished with Mingle Standard in the same tone. Chairs and sofas are combined to create a dynamic and inviting space.

With its well-loved combination of colour, form and function, Sveavägen 34 is the location that has received the most positive feedback from both tenants and visitors.

“The sites where we’ve introduced more EFG pieces have been incredibly well received,” Isabella concludes.
